Question: Used S class Mercedes vs. new cheaper car? Why are they so cheap? Posted: 24 Apr 2015 08:41 PM PDT The S-Class isn't a Ferrari or some other exotic supercar. It is an expensive monster of a car that depreciates tens of thousands of dollars per year until it falls into the $10,000 range. Most people making huge amounts of money aren't going to buy a used luxury car; most also aren't going to keep one for longer than five years. This is great because dealers have to move the cars on to their second owners; you can buy one of the most respected names in luxury for the price of a dolled up Honda Accord. As far as maintenance goes, remember that a car that was once over $100,000 will have a number of expensive components and regular services are expensive. this is true when new as well as once the car has depreciated down to a $5000 car. This is the reality of owning a high end car; you can save a small fortune by learning how to do basic maintenance tasks. |

Posted: 24 Apr 2015 08:04 PM PDT Almost nobody will lend to anyone with no credit and such small amounts. Buy here pay here dealers might but they'd want $800-1500+ down and they'd charge $5000+ for a $2000 car. They should be avoided at all costs. Save & pay cash. ![]() |

Question: Are Hondas overrated in America? Posted: 24 Apr 2015 06:43 PM PDT First of all, Honda make good cars, reliable and fuel efficient cars. But I personally find Honda a bit overrated by American car buyers when majority of them buy a Honda believing that Toyota and Honda are Japans top 2 automaker. In reality, it is Toyota and Nissan. Toyota and Nissan are a lot more popular in Asia compare to Honda. Toyota and Nissan automaker actually offers a larger variety of vehicle. From hybrids to compact sedan to large sedan, from small SUV to full size SUV. Also with flagship vehicle like the Land Cruiser and GTR which are one of the best at off road/racing. In contrast, Honda probably dont even offer more than 10 models in their lineup. The shopping experience buying a Honda is also less appealing comparing to buying a Toyota or Nissan in terms of price. With similar MSRP for a specific size/type of vehicle, Honda dealers always offer the lowest amount of discount. However, Hondas are still one of the top selling cars in America. Isn't Honda a bit overrated here in America? ![]() |
