Posted: 13 Apr 2015 05:24 AM PDT You will need to get an aftermarket sound system. A pair of aftermarket speakers, a 4 or 5 channel amp for the mids and highs and a monoblock amp for the sub. Etc.. |
Question: AUX button but no input? Posted: 13 Apr 2015 03:45 AM PDT Some cars will have an AUX/CD button on the head unit but no actual AUX input. If it's not in the center compartment, you will need an AUX adapter. If you have no idea what that is, look it up on Google. Another option is an FM transmitter. They are very cheap and low quality. I would not recommend them. The best option is to get an aftermarket head unit with an AUX input or buy an AUX adapter. |
Question: 1978 GMC sierra classic? Posted: 12 Apr 2015 11:43 PM PDT What system you should get? That will depend on what kind of sound you want. If you want extreme SPL, look into Sundown audio, DC audio, JL audio, Ascendant audio or Soundqubed. If you want something decent that won't break your budget, look into Kicker, Alpine, Kenwood, RE audio or NVX audio. Yes, adding a sub to any sound system will improve the sound quality and overall performance. The sub will pick up the low end range that your mids and highs can't. You have an old truck. I would highly recommend upgrading to a high output alternator. Look into Mechman or Singer alternators. They make good H/O alternators for car audio and other applications. |
