Posted: 17 Apr 2015 02:37 AM PDT If you are down to 1000 rpm, you should probably down shift for sure. But it depends on the situation. If you are gently coasting to a stop, then shifting down like this is fine. If you are trying to pass a truck on a hill? Then you are just wasting passing space, drop a couple of gears and get some power happening. |
Question: Why were the most intelligent humans not Atheist? Posted: 17 Apr 2015 12:06 AM PDT Atheism is the most popular. We are all born atheist, we have all been atheist at one point. Atheism is not the denial of god(s), it is the lack of belief in any god(s). That being said, atheism was not "popular" because it was often a crime punishable by death to not believe in the governing authorities preferred religion. Religion was a tool used by the government to keep a population stupid and willing. Religion just evolves with the times. As we learn more, the religion needs to explain less and become dismissed as "mythology" rather than an active religion. Let's be honest. Religious affiliation does not denote or reflect intelligence. I have seen stupid Christians and stupid atheists. I have seen smart Christians and smart atheists. |

Question: How do you yield to pedestrians? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 10:39 AM PDT My driving instructor taught me that I could not drive over a crosswalk if a pedestrian were inside of it *anywhere* (even in the other lane, or other side of the street, etc.). If the pedestrian was between the curbs, I was stopped and waiting. I personally think this degree of deference to pedestrians is taking it too far and as a practical matter, I will drive past when they are well clear of my path and they will not feel threatened by me, but often before they reach the curb. This doesn't mean you sail past at full speed and brush their heels. They need to be well clear of you. If there is a cop standing by, I would probably wait for them to pass the curb. |
Posted: 16 Apr 2015 09:19 AM PDT Careless driving is a nasty offense. But that's not what you were doing in the parking lot. The citation needs to identify the offense. It's probably a state statute. Look up the number and find the law and print it out. Read it very carefully. Did you do what it says you can't do? If the officer did not witness you driving on a highway of the state, you can't be charged with the insurance violation either. Do some homework. What's your mother's problem? Proof of insurance is required to be carried in the vehicle! By the way, it's a "brake" pedal. I have a question: WHY did a cop come? Who called the police? Do you realize that both you and the driver of the other car may now have an accident on your driving record? Crying to the police is not protection. It makes a record, violations, insurance problems, court problems, money problems, etc. Don't think the police is going to do anybody a favor in a non-damaging fender bender in a McDonalds parking lot. "No damage" is not a "fender bender". |
Posted: 16 Apr 2015 09:08 AM PDT Since India is where tons of technical assistance call centers are, I'd expect the internet there to work well enough to give a doctor's address without a complicated web inquiry. Use the key words, "doctor IN panvel" in your browser and see how many come up. Take a look: http://www.justdial.com/Mumbai/doctors-%... You might have done this too. |
