| Question: Buy here pay here car lots? Posted: 08 Apr 2015 07:43 PM PDT If you were a cash buyer and knew exactly what you were looking for the last place you should be considering is a BHPH lot. Why? Because they sell crap cars and they charge way too much for them. You see they pray on the people who don't have the same choices as you, they don't have cash, they don't have credit, all they have is a job. So the BHPH don't have to sell them good cars, because they have no place else to go, they sell them the junk that they clean up to make look nice but hide all the defects under shiny new paint and some cool rims. They over charge because again, the people who use them don't have any other options. So your getting the worst cars at the highest prices at a BHPH lot. They don't want your cash. They want someone who is going to pay them weekly until they can no longer keep up the payments, then they'll repo the car and sell the exact same car to someone else and the whole cycle starts over again. If you want a nice car and you've got cash go find a seller with a better reputation than your local BHPH lot. The car you want can't be that hard to find. I can probably find 10 of them within 50 miles of your front door. |
| Posted: 08 Apr 2015 06:55 PM PDT Because you didn't think about this BEFORE you bought the 300, doing it now will cost you many extra thousands of dollars. Without knowing what your car is worth as a trade, no one can advise you. It is hugely likely that your current loan balance is way higher than the car's current value, so not only is your car worth exactly nothing, in terms of cash value, but you'd have to PAY just to make it have no value at all. If your balance is $17K, but the car's value is $14K, then you'd have to pay $3K just for the the car to have zero value. This is a grossly stupid thing that you want to do. Why not just put a batch of cash in a fireplace and burn it, at least you'd be warm for a few minutes... |
