Question: Would i be approved for a car loan? Posted: 06 Apr 2015 08:41 PM PDT You ask for what you need, not a random number "just in case". You can get a maximum number in a pre-approval from a bank, but if you already have a car picked out, then going for a pre-approval first is pointless. Apply for the loan and find out. I can almost guarantee that SOMEONE will approve your loan. It may be a sub-prime lender that the dealer uses, but still.... You don't make enough for ANY traditional lender to give you 24,000. Your father does, and assuming he has no other bills or car payments, he can probably get a loan for that. It is pretty dumb to pay 110% of your yearly income for a car. Get real, kid. Grow up, move out of daddy's basement, and get something you can actually afford.
Posted: 06 Apr 2015 08:34 PM PDT Most dealers won't touch anything that they will sell you for 1900 bucks. Some real small ones will, but most won't. There's not enough money to be made. A 900 dollar profit is a waste of their time when they have employees and commissions to pay. Average Joe Nobody who owns a 10x10 building with nothing but one office/salesroom and a crap house with 20 cars out on the lot may be willing to only take 500-1000 profits. The local Ford Dealer with 75 employees, 10 acres and 1000 cars, not so much. With 1900 to spend, you can't be too picky unless you're willing to potentially wait months or more to find that perfect car. Your best bet is to look on craigslist, or other places that have private car sale ads. First and foremost you need to see what is available in your price range. This is always step one when you have a budget. Go ahead and search a bit above your bottom dollar price as there's always room to haggle. After you find out what your money will get, you start your research. You can look at consumer reports if you choose. It does have information about reliability history of particular models. Start narrowing your choices down to one or two (or three) cars that you like. Ones that fit your needs and budget. Pick out the best car and start talking to the owner. Lather rinse repeat.
Question: Which credit unions will fianance a car over 10years old in san diego? Posted: 06 Apr 2015 08:17 PM PDT Depending on your circumstances you may be able to just get a personal loan for the value of the car, then spend that on whatever you want. But that will depend on your credit rating / assets / and relationship with the credit union. Like if you are a long term client, own a house, and have good credit you can usually just go and ask for money (for whatever reason) and be loaned it. If you just walk in off the street with nothing, then they want a decent car as collateral for the loan, not an older car that might blow up and be worth nothing.
