I'm stuck in a big mess of decisions. I want a Scion FRS or BRZ & I found a trd one red exactly how I wanted it, it passed all inspection & pre purchase inspection, no frame or engine damage, the only thing is it's got a salvage title.. The car is going for 14,200 I love it. But the title is bothering me.. Toyota also did a vin check and car fax and it has been maintained in perfect condition, it's just the side collision it had.. I love the car but that salvage title.. It bugging me due to resale value.. My other options are used BMW's or Audi, or a merc. With clean titles. But I'm not sure if I want euro, I had a nightmare with a BMW once. I really need help deciding. Would you buy the salvage title car for 14,200? I want peoples opinions, would it be really hard to sell a salvage title car?

Question: Is a three year old Mercedes a wise choice for a used car?

Yes, Mercedes parts, maintenance, repairs, and insurance are expensive -- but so it is for any luxury brand such as BMW and Lexus. For reliability, Lexus is tops. Furthermore, Lexus vehicles can be repaired and maintained by any Toyota dealer, for less money. By the way, there is no Toyota that's like the Lexus GS model.

Question: Private party cars more expensive than dealers?

I don't think your survey can be considered generally conclusive. Private sellers ALWAYS set their asking prices high, expecting to be "talked down" to a lower selling price. Same with dealers, but they have to keep asking prices reasonably low to be on par with competitors. So, comparing asking prices is not a good way to determine actual selling prices.

Private sellers also often don't know the real value of the cars, so they set the value high initially, and when the car doesn't sell (because the price is set too high), they lower the price, possibly several times before the car actually sells.

In my experience, private sellers are more willing to negotiate a much lower selling price than dealers.

Selling a vehicle , trading it in???

Okay I have a truck that I only owe $2200 left and I saw a car at a dealership that has around the same value as my truck and was wanting to trade it in. So how would that work or should I pay the 2200 first and then trade it in, the only problem with that is somebody else might get the car I want
