I don't know how busy Phoenix is these days. I'm pretty sure they're still using RCO's. Road jobs are pretty limited since Phoenix is a dead end out of Tucson. Tucson is the place you'd want to be since all the traffic comes through there. Crews out of Tucson run to Yuma,Nogales,Lordsburg, and El Paso. Sorry I can't answer you better but I never get to talk to Phoenix crews. I do think a job there would be very limited due to low traffic though. I work out of El Paso and we are very busy here.

there are no direct trains from bangalore to ooty ! though there are buses !
only train that goes to ooty is from mettupalayam station ( its 35 kms from coimbatore )

book a train from bangalore to coimbatore
then passenger train or taxi/bus from coimbatore to mettupalayam ( distance is just 35 kms )
take toy train from mettupalayam to ooty & enjoy scenery :)
