Question: Why add a safety clip on lanyard? Posted: 07 Nov 2014 01:44 AM PST Are you talking about the safety fastening on the sort of lanyard you wear around your neck to carry a badge or something? That's so it will break if the lanyard gets caught in something, thus avoiding injury to the wearer. |
Question: Did they have concrete roads before cars? Posted: 07 Nov 2014 01:36 AM PST Interesting question .. Well, actually, no. (German car before road) But for all practical purposes, in America ... yes. (Road before car) The first street in the United States to be paved with concrete was Court Avenue in Bellefontaine, Ohio in 1891. The first mile of concrete pavement in the United States was on Woodward Avenue in Detroit, Michigan in 1909 The year 1886 is regarded as the birth year of the modern car. In that year, German inventor Karl Benz built the Benz Patent-Motorwagen. Cars did not become widely available until the early 20th century. One of the first cars that was accessible to the masses was the 1908 Model T, an American car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company |
Posted: 06 Nov 2014 10:24 PM PST How do snow tires reduce the risk of traffic accidents during the winter? How does society benefit from this risk reduction? I'm writing a research paper for physics. This is the topic. We are meant to relate this to dynamics, so things like friction. Even the simplest answer including something about dynamics will help. Thanks in advance! :) |
Posted: 06 Nov 2014 10:11 PM PST what kind ventilation is req'd for safety & health in a heavy duty garage for chops saw & grinding wheel 4 cutting metals such as galv steel? Co worker always like to cut metal with chop saw that has a fiber type of blade with all garage doors closed and no real ventilation. I have sinus issues and get bad migraines and sinuses flare up causing extreme upper respitory issues. Trying to go the right way/ path and get my work to install proper ventilation so Co worker does not get on my case for opening garage doors to ventilate. |
