Question: Why do MSF course teach me boring stuff? Posted: 13 Nov 2014 10:35 PM PST I'm taking the MFS course at the local community college, and we are learning all the basic stuff, friction zone, shifting gear, etc. those boring stuff..... I'm wondering when do they teach us how to do wheelie, burnout, all that cool stuff? That's the purpose of getting the motorcycle license, right? |
Question: Motorcycle engine cuts out while riding! What could it be? Posted: 13 Nov 2014 10:07 PM PST Motorcycle engine cuts out while riding! What could it be? I just got the bike two weeks ago, it is a 1994 Kawasaki Ninja EX500. Sometimes when i m riding the engine will cut out. If I downshift to first and press the engine cutoff switch off and on and press the start button it will start up again. It seems like it might do this when it is kind of cold out, but i m not really sure. |
Question: Should i down grade motorcycles to a calmer one? Posted: 13 Nov 2014 07:05 PM PST You did not come off because of the powerband, you came off because of the sudden swerve (possibly combined with too much speed for the swerve, which is understandable). Sometimes gaining experience hurts, what you need to do is learn from it to improve your observation and anticipation, being able to read what the vehicles in front might do and preparing a plan in your head for what you will do if that happens. It might not be your fault but you will always come off worse. Having a "calmer" bike might have affected what happened (but probably wouldn't) however if it gives you more confidence then why not take that route. |
