Question: So CAT 3 landing is impossible if the glide slope doesn't work? Posted: 11 Aug 2016 01:42 AM PDT Any ILS approach ALWAYS requires an operating glide slope (and localizer in case you ask) - This applies to all Cat.I, Cat.II, Cat.IIIa and Cat.lllb ILS.- Any ILS with inoperative glide slope could be used as LOC approach (if MDA is published) - ![]() |
Question: Why don't they include parachutes as part of commercial airplane's safety measures? Posted: 10 Aug 2016 07:57 PM PDT Do a search above. I have answered this at least 10 times. But mainly because if a jet is falling out of the sky, the g forces as it tumbles will keep everyone one pinned to the ceiling, floor, seats, etc, ![]() |
Question: Commercial pilots vs fighter pilots, who would make more money and get more perks? Posted: 10 Aug 2016 07:11 PM PDT A captain flying "fighters" has lower pay than a major flying a "bomber" or a "tanker" - Do you really think the military only have fighters..? Great benefits and retirement - No fear of "military bankruptcy" or furloughs...! A commercial pilot can be flying a Piper Navajo in air taxi operations - Most military pilots have more income than most holders of a commercial pilot license - Start by learning the proper aviation and pilot vocabulary . ![]() |
Question: JOB - IN AIRCRAFT'S COMPANY? Posted: 10 Aug 2016 06:57 PM PDT If you have to ask this question on YA, you aren't qualified for the job. FAR 23 & 25 are the regulations covering the manufacture of aircraft and aircraft parts. A manufacturer has to plan how to certify that their planes or parts were manaufactured in accordance with those regulations. Obviously, familiarity with those regulations would be necessary for the person who "develops and executes Part 23 certification plans". ![]() |
