At 18 you are a legal adult. Yes, you can travel by yourself.

If you're staying at a friend's house, you shouldn't have any problems. Getting a hotel room might be a problem. Most places require one to be 21 and order to book a room.

You say you found one for 200 bucks, and it hasn't been started in 10 years? Do you suppose there is a REASON it hasn't been started?

They are fun cars, I've owned and restored several. Still have two that I take to shows often. They are like one of the kids. Everytime you think all is well, you need to spend some more money on them!

They really can be quite reliable though, if meticulously maintained, which most weren't. Most parts are still available at reasonable prices, however some parts are only found used.

If you are looking for a project that will take up a lot of your time, this may be for you.

If you are looking for a car to get you back and forth to work, school, or even shopping, a Geo would be a better choice!
