Posted: 09 Aug 2016 10:19 PM PDT There is no "age limit" to taking flying lessons. If you can reach and manipulate the controls, you can fly an airplane with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) seated next to you. HOWEVER, since you can't actually GET a pilot's license until you are 17 years old, MOST people wait until they are close to that age before taking lessons. Helicopters are very expensive to fly, and dual instruction in a helicopter would cost more than double what it would take to become a pilot in a fixed wing aircraft. |

Question: Is it better for professional pilots to be extroverts rather than introverts? Posted: 09 Aug 2016 06:56 PM PDT Yes. Not only do you have to deal with your co-pilot but the crew on the plane, and often the passengers. Besides there's airport personnel, airline personnel, other pilots, meetings, bosses, and doctors (for flight certification exams). If you are not a "people person", you may find that you will be at a disadvantage for just about any job. |
