You can take a special driving course for skid control.<p>At all times you DRIVE FOR CONDITIONS.</p><p>A Snow storm does not cause an accident.<br/>An ice covered road does not cause an accident.</p><p>YOU NOT STOPPING ON IT is the cause of the accident.<br/>YOU skidding is the cause of the accident.<br/>YOU NOT STOPPING and hitting someone is the accident.<br/>First Basic Instruction SLOW DOWN. Take you lead Foot Off the gas pedal. Use your brakes tenderly<br/>Slow start slow stop. LEAVE more room between you and the one in front. 3 to 4 times normal distance.</p><p>You PAY ATTENTION some other driver may do some unexpected thing like skid past a Stop sign suddenly spin out of control. Not be able to Stop at a red light. GREEN does not mean stomp on the gas and go.<br/>It means like always. You may proceed if it is SAFE to do so.</p><p>Watch this video. It is a huge crash. Many Many were able to drive along manoeuvre through or stop and not have a Problem.<br/>There were many IDIOTS just driving bad. The storm or icy road did not cause the multiple accidents.<br/>You steer SLOWLY You accelerate slowly you stop slowly. GET IT You SLOW DOWN<br/>You take your time to get where you need to go.<br/>It does help if you have proper tires for snow or ice.<br/>Being from the south. Do you have a special Drive in Hurricane test? From Arizona Drive in Haboob test.<br/>Drive in Fog Drive in Forest Fire Smoke?</p><p>ICE is ICE it is dangerous to drive on. Snow covered is much different. If it is unsafe then YOU DO NOT GO OUT.<br/>You plan ahead for many routes to and from work. Roads with hills for example you avoid. Narrow country roads may be easily blocked by an accident. YOU KNOW OTHER WAYS from A to B.<br/>It takes longer to get from A to B.</p><p>The basics.You clean the windows. You start your car and let it warm up. Your breathing fogs up the window,<br/>You go where it is you want to go. You PAY attention. Your prepare to stop for the stop sign. You lift your foot ff the gas you coast for a bit you touch the brakes you slow to a stop.<br/>You proceed when clear. You allow extra time to get moving. You watch for others not in control you avoid them.<br/>You pretend it is not summer your pretend it is not a dry road and drive like it is winter.You arrive at destination.<br/>Practise you do not learn it in 5 minutes.<br/>Now see if you can spot the mistakes . Watch the accident scene grows.
