| Question: Is it wrong to not wave "thank you" at drivers who let you in completely unjustified? Posted: 06 Aug 2016 10:52 AM PDT The other day I was waiting to pull out onto a roadway and somebody just stopped dead in the road to let me out and flashed "the wave of death" at me. I couldn't go because there was another car approaching on the oncoming side. So I just sat there, and the driver just sat there as well. After the other car had passed, there were literally no other cars on the road except for them and I would have had ample opportunity to pull out if they had just kept driving. They just made the whole thing more confusing than it had to be. So I pulled out onto the roadway and didn't wave at them. Is this wrong? I wave at drivers who let me in when it seems justified, but I get annoyed at other drivers who break road rules just to be "nice" and overly complicate things even if they are trying to do a nice thing for me. |

| Posted: 06 Aug 2016 07:41 AM PDT Instead of trying to go faster to pass the guy in the middle lane, you should have slowed a little and let him pass you then signaled and moved to the right to let faster cars use the left lane. You should stay in the middle lane and out of the fast left lane if you are a new driver, just getting used to all craziness on the roads. Better to go with the slower traffic and not get flustered. Be very defensive all the time because most drivers now are in a big rush and slightly nuts. I stay out of the left lane for that reason. Left lanes are for the people who think they are race car drivers and resent anyone in "their" lane. |
