Question: I changed the fuel pump on 2000 durango, still wont start.? Posted: 14 Aug 2016 02:18 PM PDT If you spray starter fluid in the carburetor and it starts, then you know it is the fuel filter or fuel pump. Some cars have a fuel pump in the gas tank and another on the engine block. After you change the fuel pump, you may want to mash the gas pedal like 20 times and then try to start the car. That's also what you do if a car has been stored for a long time - like more than 12 months. So try stomping the gas pedal and starting it. Don't worry about flooding it. |

Posted: 14 Aug 2016 01:27 PM PDT Is it going to just below the Hot mark or is it going into the red? Open the hood. That's the bit in front the windscreen. Locate the coolant reservoir. Check to see if the is any coolant in the reservoir. If not, top up to the 'Full when Cold' mark. If coolant is at full mark check the serpentine belt. If that is still in place check to see if the fan cuts in when it should. Get a power washer and blast out the vents of the radiator. If all that fails to stop it going into the red then it's probably either the thermostat or the water pump. |
