Question: Between these two 20 years old cars, which is better looking? Posted: 11 Aug 2016 08:50 AM PDT As the old saying goes; "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". In other words, there is no right nor wrong answer, only varying opinions. I would have to agree with the first post though...both are generic, mid 90's sedan designs. Neither broke any ground with bold styling statements. |
Posted: 11 Aug 2016 07:23 AM PDT I doubt that a 2010 beetle will ever be a valuable collector's item, but I suppose that its possible. Even if you parked the car in a garage, covered it with a canvas tarp, and left it for 60 years you still wouldn't have a collector's item. The car might be low on milege, but it would still need major restoration. Any components made of rubber or plastic would need to be replaced due to deterioration. Components such as fuel pumps and fan motors might fail due to the breakdown of internal seals and corrosion of electrical components. So the bottom line is that if you park a car and leave it for 60 years you'll have a worthless hunk of rusted metal, not a classic car. As an investment, it would be a very poor choice. Sure you might be able to fix it up back to good working condition and sell it as a "classic" but compare how much money you would make to the amount you could earn if you just sold the car today and invested that money in stocks & bonds for the next 60 years. You'll have a whole lot more money with regular investments than with car storage. |

Question: People parking in MY parking space? Posted: 11 Aug 2016 01:59 AM PDT A few weeks ago, for the first time, some random car parked in my spot. I know it wasn't one of the other tenants that live here but most likely one of their guests. It didn't bother me because it was the first time it happened. However, again, another car is parked in my spot. Both times happened around 9 pm when I come back from work so I don't know how long they were parked there but I'm starting to get annoyed. I usually park on the side of the street when this sh*t happens but it just reminds me that i didn't pay for this parking spot for nothing. I don't want to bring the landlord into this because I don't want to seem petty but if this keeps happening, I'll have no choice but to. I'm thinking next time I'll leave a note. I usually come off passive aggressive when I'm angry so what should I write on the note that states, "I'm not trying to be a b*tch but I mean business". Because I really just want to say "Park in my ******* spot again and I'll have your ******* car towed." I don't want to start any sort of drama with my neighbors but if I have to, I will. I also don't want to risk my or my car's safety. Btw, should I start taking pictures of the cars that park in my spot? There IS a huge *** sign on the building that says violators will be towed AND that the premise is recorded. |
