Question: Why are there 6 speakers in the newer cars? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 11:41 PM PDT Firstly, 'everything' is quite an overstatement. Not 'everything' had only four speakers pre-2000; I had a 1999 car that had eight. Nor does 'everything' these days have six or more, I'm pretty sure there's some sort of Chinese upturned-wok-on-wheels somewhere that has zero speakers. Secondly, DVD has nothing to do with the number of speakers, or lack thereof. And thirdly, who made you the judge of what is or isn't 'needed'? |

Question: Starting out with subwoofers? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 06:01 PM PDT In a small car like that assuming you don't have a long history of sound systems with big subs I'd just get a 10 in a good box and a decent amp. This is a cheaper brand, but reviews are generally positive -- wiring kit is included: RF with a built in amp. You'd need to add a wiring kit: JBL also has a 12" setup that is pretty nice: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1055... Of course you have hundreds of options if you want to assemble a separate sub/box/amp and wiring setup. Buying a package just simplifies the process. |
