Question: How to scrap an aluminum boat in NY without title or registration?

My rowing club has two old flat bottom aluminum boats (~14-16ft) with holes in them that are not worth repairing. The boats have been sitting around for years and we want to get rid of them and hopefully make a bit of money.

We want to sell them as scrap, but the guy at the scrap yard said he couldn't take them without the title or registration or some proof that we own them. We can't find any documents for the boats anywhere. We'd rather avoid paying for a new title and going through all that trouble.

One other thing the guy at the scrap yard mentioned was that he could take the boats if they had a big hole in them and were clearly not functional. Could we just cut a big hole in the bottom of each boat and then scrap them?

We are in New York State. Thanks for the help.

Question: You are on a small banca boat on a calm day and you have nothing with which to make it move. Explain how you can make it move?

Should this be in "philosophy"?

I guess you'll just have to wait for the wind or current, seeing as you're tied up in a bag on the bottom of the boat. Otherwise you could jump off the back and the reaction force would propel the boat forwards. Or just paddle with your hands.

Question: How do i "AIM" my fish finder transducer head when mounting it to my boat.?

I dont know exactly how these tings work to understand best how to mount them.

The unit I have looks similar to the unit in this picture i found on google here:

It has a back side that is flat (as shown in the picture) and a front rounded side (in the picture is facing forward on the boat and not visible.

The new one i bought, looks similar to the one that came off the boat so i think they are commonly made in this shape and design.

My problem is that the current mount location risks it striking the prop if it is turned too far, so i was consiering rotating it 180 degrees so it mounts facing the back of the boat instead of the front, but im not sure what that will do.

How do these units emit their sonar or radar energy. I know radar transceivers emit a 30' beam, but im not sure how these work.

If its mounted as it is in the picture, is the beam going straight down? If so i dont feel like it would hurt if i rotated it the opposite way.

Basically im trying to ask how these things emit their signal so that i can best understand how to mount it and if its goign to work if i rotate it 180 degrees using the same mount
