Question: Is there a something similar to a dirt bike that you can ride around in cities/towns? Posted: 26 Sep 2014 08:48 PM PDT Enduro- basically a dirt bike just with street legal stuff such as lights, speedometer, mirrors, it still has same size tires as dirtbike Or you can get a supermoto which is also basically the same thing as dirtbike except this comes with 17" wheels and all street legal stuff I own a supermoto bro and Damn are they fun as hell |
Question: Should I buy a Dirt Bike or Four Wheeler? Posted: 26 Sep 2014 06:49 PM PDT Depends on what your aiming to do. If you want something for just riding, not working, they have dirt bikes and sport ATVS. if you want something to ride, as well as work with every now and then, they have utility ATVS. With a dirt bike, you are in control of just about everything except the forces of inertia pretty much. You have full transmission, engine, steering, and ride control. With dirtbikes, a combo of the clutch and throttle can lead to sporty shifts and more power. The steering can be varied from speed always, such as going slow and turning the handlebars, going slow and leaning, going fast and leaning, or going fast and counter steering, which all varies with terrain, speed, and type of bike you get. The ride on a dirt bike is more fluid like and softer, while being more powerful and jumpy. Fluid like is due to 2 wheels following behind each other, not 4, which can sometimes be unstable on rough terrain. Also due to all the engines power being driven to a single wheel, you have much more response and power than an ATV. ATVs, are somewhat the same, but you havent got as much control over everything. ATVs have manumatic transmissions that do not stall, but can be damaged from mistreatment and cannot be selctive on which gears you want(with a dirtbike you can skip gears due to a clutch, manumatics you have to follow through). The engines are usually more powerful, but not as responsive as a bike. The ride is usually much more safer and stable, while having the ability to put the drive train into 4x4 is a plus if the going gets rough. In my opinion, if you are not going to work with this, go for a dirt bike. They are tricky at first to learn on, but are great fun, as long as you are responsible. Dirt bikes are quicker, agile, and funner due to the controls and power of such a tiny engine. I mean sure, your atv friends might think that bikes are weak, but they'll rethink that when you have a 15ft rooster tail from the back tire while zipping by with something that sounds like a crotch rocket. |
Question: Are Ninjas good motorcycles? Posted: 26 Sep 2014 05:08 PM PDT So I'v been thinking about getting a motorcycle after I take the courses (I am a beginner) And I'm wondering what is a good brand. I hear a lot of people recommend Ninjas, but aren't Ninjas the Sport motorcycles? And lots of people say that sport categories are bad for beginners. So are they good for beginners or do i need to get a standard bike? Are there Ninja Standard bikes? BTW, I like the Sport design more than a standard design but I want what is safer and more reliable as a beginner. |

Question: Which 600 motorcycle should i start on? Posted: 26 Sep 2014 04:34 PM PDT You know sh!t about riding but want to go very fast & furious & dangerous... Blah blah blah... Fill out a donor card before buying a Super Sport as a first bike, moron... I quote: "this is probably going to be the only bike i own in life" DAMN RIGHT... It is. These things are notorious of killing morons in secs... Oh, and check out the following videos: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UT... What makes you think you're better than these fools? I had a GS500 when I first threw my leg over an R6... Everytime I squeezed the throttle; I was like 'JESUS'. Darn thing felt like an angry bull... Stood it to 90 Degree when I accelerated on a highway on-ramp... But since I had few years of experience by then, I knew how to get the front wheel back on the ground... It was my experience which saved my sorry butt that day. Otherwise, I would be taking a dirt nap... |
Question: Motorcycle Tune Up Cost? Posted: 26 Sep 2014 04:28 PM PDT
I have a 2003 yamaha virago 250, i've been riding it now for about 7 months. I know it needs to have the brakes replaced, and i do want some new tires. the only thing that i had done so far was to replace the oil and oil filter, I haven't done the brake fluid either. also what is the most basic things that are in a tune up? |
