My 2002 trailblazer is making a EEEEEE noise when I go to turn it and put my foot on the accelerator, what could be the problem?

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and when I go to put my foot on the accelerator and turn the wheel (left and right), it makes a noise like EEEEEEE and I just had the oil chamber looked at and now its making this noise. What could it be that is causing this noise to occur? A family friend of mine says it could be the power steering belt or the carburetor belt.

Question: $5500 to upgrade AC system or $3000 to replace the condenser?

$5500 to upgrade AC system or $3000 to replace the condenser?

The compressor in the condenser of my 13 years old 3.5 ton AC system just quitted. The technician found there is a short in the compressor. The quote for replacing the condenser is about $3000. The system is seer 13 and uses R22. Another quote is to replace the whole AC system with newer freon and with seer 16 for about $5500. I think my decision depends on how long will the evaporator in my current AC system last. it is Lennox builder grade 3.5 ton. It is in Houston and I estimate it has been used about 120 days per year, 10 hours per day for the last 13 years. It seems to me the evaporator should be able to last longer since it has no troubled history and no moving parts.

Question: Are these codes a transmission issue?

Posted: 22 Sep 2014 05:06 PM PDT

P1381
P301
P302
P303
P304
P1457
P300
Mechanic said the P300's are misfiring cylinders and P1381 and P1457 is a transmission issue...but when I searched those up it had nothing to do with the transmission????

And the car does jerk when i'm driving it and the car sometimes randomly has the rpm's go really high

transmission issue or electronic issue in the car??

Question: Should I replace the clutch?

Should I replace the clutch?

I just got a car with a manual transmission, and I've been doing pretty well. However, last week, I was merging onto a 55 going up a hill, and I was getting impatient. i saw a gap and went for it. When I did, I think I gave too much gas and let go of the clutch too soon. After that, I smelled the distinct smell of my clutch burning. I pulled over and waited a minute. Then, I went back on the road and drove suuuper nicely. Now, I haven't had much trouble with the car and shifting, but I still worry about the clutch. Every once in a while, even if I drive nicely, I can still faintly smell the clutch. Should I get a new clutch? Or is there another way to fix this?

Question: Is it safe to drive my car if the ball joint loose or broken?

Posted: 22 Sep 2014 04:42 PM PDT

The short and most correct answer is no, it is not safe.

That being said, a worn ball joint will cause the front tires to wear-out very quickly and may cause the steering to be a bit "squirrely" which of course is dangerous in and of itself, but usually the vehicle can be driven safely, if care is taken, and will last for quite a long time.

You would know if the ball joint is actually broken, because you are not going to be able to drive the vehicle at all.
