Question: Should i get a gaming pc or save up for a car? Posted: 15 Sep 2014 07:30 PM PDT Should i get a gaming pc or save up for a car? Ok these two things maybe out of category but should i get a gaming pc or a car, im 16 and i got my permit and just to be clear i"m not a spoiled little brat, everything im getting i am paying for with my money every single dime. I worked my @ss off every day after school and i worked full time on my weekend to make $6,000. |
Posted: 15 Sep 2014 07:20 PM PDT The credit card company will send you monthly bills and tell you the minimum amount you can pay. However, that minimum amount, if that's all you choose to pay, includes a lot of interest and not much toward actually paying off the balance. Therefore, it could take a LONG time, possibly many years, and you would end up paying a huge amount of interest. So, the best strategy is to pay as much as you can each month. |
Question: If i were to pay for the full price of a new car up front, should i expect a discount? Posted: 15 Sep 2014 07:13 PM PDT Not really. Dealers typically get some money when they arrange financing and so may be more willing to take a little less for the price on the car itself than with a straight sale. Personally, I found getting prices was often easier through e-mail or at least asking for a price, with all fees (I'd give them my tax rate) and letting them know I'd decide. I also told them I would not be financing (if I were I would have arranged it separately.) Most good dealers understood this and provided what I asked. A few poor ones would try the type of tactics which have tainted auto sales, but I just wrote them off. So, after your test drives and research. know the invoice and current incentives, then e-mail or call a few dealers and ask for the price (let them know if they have one in stock you're considering and that you won't need financing) and see what responses you get. Bought my last new car outright. |
Question: Which car would be better? Posted: 15 Sep 2014 06:34 PM PDT Neither. I would get as new a car as I could, because while modern cars are generally well made, and should last 10-15 years of solid use, they still age and parts wear out, so 10+ year old cars are most often repair moneypits. But, Jeeps are crappy, so I would never buy one of those. |
