Question: Could I get a 13K car loan?

Posted: 20 Sep 2014 08:46 PM PDT

I'm an 18 year old with a 714 credit score (is that good or bad?) I'm currently bringing in a steady income of 36k per year. I have my career going and I have an awesome education already, and an amazing job in healthcare. I don't know a lot about loans and stuff, but if I did get a loan I would be able to make the payments on time. Is buying a 13k car reasonable?

Question: Do you think its a good idea to buy a new car for my first car?

My parents might get me a Subaru WRX 2015 for my first car (I have 1 grand as well, so I guess I'm technically buying it too? I don't know) and I'm not sure if that's the brightest idea. We have good insurance and I think the warranty is good on the car, so I figure the price is alright, if worst comes to worst then with the insurance I have a good safety net (until I get a job, which I'll pay for myself, either by my own pride or by being kicked off). I'm not the kind to take risks, be absentminded or act harshly out of rage. So I figure if I stick with that, chances of an accident will go down.

I feel kinda spoiled, but my parents are nice enough and I'm not gonna say no since I really want it, I'm grateful so I guess that makes it better. We can afford it and live comfortably.

Thoughts?

Question: I finally can afford a ride. Which should I get?

All of my choices are older like the 1990s. I'm looking for reliability, low on insurance, leather seating recommended, MPG my problem, and long lasting. Here are my choices: ...show more

Update : I'm 18 and never had anything bad happened to me.

Update 2: Another thing, I'm also looking for low repair costs. Also, I have ...show more

Question: Can I sue the person who sold me a car?

Posted: 20 Sep 2014 07:11 PM PDT

Your bodyman is an idiot. You bought the car as is.

You can sue him for not disclosing the prior salvage and you might win for that.

But how will you collect if you win ?

So, suing just costs you money and you will probably never collect.

Some idiot sued me for $90 about 25 years ago. I didn't show up for court so I lost. I owed him $90+35 court costs. I never paid him.

So he just wasted $35 suing me.

Now, it may have shown up on my credit report, I don't know but it never kept me from getting a credit card. (And I never borrowed for a house or car because I like paying cash)
