There will always be a degree of moisture content in wood. It is a living organism. The degree of moisture content will depend on the wood and on its manufactured process, ie kiln dried or air dried..

GRP will also have a degree of moisture within the CSM, chopped strand mat. The Gel coat should not have any moisture evident. if there is a moisture content then it has to be determined as to where and what the moisture content is. Is it due to a manufacturing process ie Osmosis or to moisture within the CSM caused possible by damage to the gel coat itself.
As CMV has said, there are numerous discussions amongst experts on this subject.

thank you. these are holes on the boat, that I'm being accused of burning. the fireworks were pointing away from the boats. but to have a few holes, this size and without melting or black burns around it, I questioned it and trying to get all my facts straight before going into court.
