Question: How do you push start a kx250 97 dirt bike i need help really dont no about dirt bikes?

Posted: 03 Sep 2014 10:41 PM PDT

WHY are you asking the SAME question AGAIN. WE already told you with NO ignition the engine will NOT run . Even if it had a magneto, without being wired, it will NOT run.
Your bike originally HAD an ignition. If it doesn't NOW, it STILL WON'T RUN !
I told you how to push start a bike your size. REMEMBER?
If you DON'T understand bikes and engines, and you have" NO ignition" literally, you should take it to a motorcycle shop or sell it . Peace brother.

Question: FLHRI with excessive vibration. It's 03?

Posted: 03 Sep 2014 08:49 PM PDT

I had a strange one last year . The bearing between the transmission shaft and clutch hub momentarily locked up and put a slight bend in the trans shaft . Vibrated pretty bad and I had a Hell of a time figuring out what happened .

Everything looked cool at a glance but when I spun the sprocket and hub around not only could I see the chain loosen and tighten but when looking close I could see the whole clutch basket wobble ever so slightly .

Fortunately for me , Jim's is only 1/2 hour from here .

Felt a lot like a broken motor mount .

Question: Good v twin sport bike that is 600cc or less?

Posted: 03 Sep 2014 08:29 PM PDT

for sport bikes a v twin means a literbike , none of the big four make a 600cc or smaller v twin and most v twins are from aprillia , ducati and honda who has the rc 51 ( a high powered bike for racing ) t most sport bikes are 4 cylinders , v twins just have a different sound and the powerband is different plus they have a lot of engine braking which is not easy to deal with as a beginner , you change down from 4th to 2nd accidentally and the bike locks up as if you jammed the brakes on full as hard as you can
my advice it get an inline 4 , more reliable , easier to ride and they have a ton of power

as for maintenance ,if its a good condition bike to begin with if you do your regular oil changes , tire pressure checks , chain adjustment and oiling and other routine stuff there is nothing else to do but buy new tires when you need to , at least not for 3 to 4 years anyway
a good used bike can range from $2500 to $6000 unless you want an old bike with high mileage or that's been raced which can be found for $1800 and up , new bikes like the yamaha fz6r are in the $8000 price range ( this particular bike would be perfect for your needs by the way , comfortable , not a pure sportbike so the insurance is cheaper and very reliable )
