They're probably better than khakis or spandex.

IDK as a kid, when I took big spills, obviously not off a motorcycle... but big spills... where there was no tear in the jeans... I would still end up bleeding underneath.

I don't know the physics behind how that happens, but it does, but denim is tougher than some other items, such as khakis.

The CBR is a good starter bike, but your 16. your getting to that age where a big bike would be nice. If it was me I would get the 900cc. I started out on a 239cc when I was 12. I still have that bike to! :D Just don't get hurt.
