Question: Whining noise coming from transmission? Posted: 25 Oct 2014 04:54 PM PDT I was going over some speed bumps and when i accelerated to like 10mph slowly, it would make a whining noise and the second i let my foot off the gas, it went away. is it the transmission and if so, whats wrong with it. i should also mention that if i floor my car, it shifts rough at 4000+rpm, but not every time, just a couple. is my transmission going bad. have a 2001 grand prix gt. thanks Update : the speed bumps had nothing to do with it fyi |
Question: Engine swap what else should I change? Posted: 25 Oct 2014 04:38 PM PDT engine swap what else should I change? Getting my 01 s60 2.4t motor replaced soon and I know I obviously need new oil and antifreeze as well as oil filter but what else should get replaced with the new motor |
Question: Do I need to completely replace my battery or can I just jumpstart it? Posted: 25 Oct 2014 04:32 PM PDT I left the lights inside of my car on overnight. Obviously now the battery is dead and the car won't start. I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero. Do I need to go out and get a replacement? Or will jumpstarting and driving around for a bit to let it recharge do the trick? |
Question: Can I use a 18 volt lithium battery as a replacement for a 18 volt ni cad battery? Posted: 25 Oct 2014 04:30 PM PDT Yes, as long it is the same tool brand and same mount. The only problem you will face is you won't be able to charge the new lithium battery in the old nicad charger, but you could charge both in a new lithium charger. Your best bet would be to buy a lithium battery/charger combo to reduce the price. Depending on brand and price, sometimes it's cheaper to buy an additional tool that comes with a new battery and charger. This is the time of year you'll see tool deals in the big box stores. |
Question: Longest lasting car? Posted: 25 Oct 2014 04:30 PM PDT NO car lasts "forever", but one of my Mercedes-Benzes has 508,000 miles on it. The Honda Accord I had before that had 301,000 miles on it when I sold it - still running fine. It all depends on initial build quality, how one drives and maintains the car, and there is an element of random chance. But you do have a better likelihood of long, reliable service with a Japanese car. Forget Ford - that would be a big mistake. |
