Question: Econometrics Question help? Posted: 13 Oct 2014 09:39 PM PDT Wei commutes to UCSD from Pacific Beach. Assume that his commuting time, W, is normally distributed. W=X+Y, where X is driving time to campus, and Y is parking and walking to class time. Assume that E(X)=17, V(X)=5, E(Y)=10, V(Y)=3. Assume also that Cov(X,Y)=1. (The covariance is positive because high traffic into UCSD slows down the highway and fills the parking spaces.) If Wei leaves home at 9am exactly, what is the probability that he will arrive late for his 9:30am econometrics class? I'm not looking for the answer just how to do the problem. |

Question: Is cruise control really necessary? Posted: 13 Oct 2014 09:39 AM PDT is cruise control really necessary? I'm thinking to buy a car. The cheaper trim without cruise control cost $2500 less than the next trim with cruise control. I mean it's not the only feature, but I don't care much about the others. I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I commute 60 miles a day, mostly freeway. Thanks! |
