Question: Are there Piper and Cessna with parachutes like the Cirrus? Posted: 24 Oct 2014 04:33 AM PDT Are there Piper and Cessna with parachutes like the Cirrus? I really enjoyed this feature but i am looking for a Cessna or Piper (it will probably be a Cessna). |
Question: Questions about becoming an aircraft mechanic? Posted: 24 Oct 2014 12:24 AM PDT Im fresh out of highschool, and my family isnt the wealthiest of all, i dont want to go to college until im sure i can pay for it myself, and with zero debt. that being said my plan is to go to technical school and learn a trade that i can immediately apply to the real world and make some decent cash along the way. i dont wanna work on cars or trucks or anything like that, i LOVE aviation - my long term goal is to actually become a pilot - so i figure i should learn to be an airplane mechanic, my logic being if i plan to fly them, i better be able to fix them as well so its a no brainer really. there is a decent aviation mech school in my city, FAA certified and all, but looking at their website all im seeing are programs for jet engine mechanics. my passion lies with prop planes, i really want to become a bush pilot. im wondering if these schools cover both propeller engines and jet engines or would i need to take different courses for the two? i honestly wouldnt mind working on big jets, those guys make some pretty decent money, but i would prefer to learn about, and come to master the repair, maintenance, and operation of propeller aircraft, since i plan to fly them for a living later on down the line. Also, lets assume i have a time machine and we fast forward to me graduating from an aircraft mechanic school, sponsored by the FAA, what would my job prospects look like coming fresh out of the classroom? |
Question: Why do people like hot air balloons so much? Posted: 23 Oct 2014 06:20 PM PDT because opposite to what people think, 1. the operator HAS some degree of control, it just requires more skills and luck than point and fly powered aircraft. different winds in different altitudes allow you for SOME degree of routing. 2. hot air balloons are NOT like any other type of aircraft.. they fly thanks to buyoancy, while most aicraft today produce lift by aerodynamic means. 3. they simply have the feel of the past, feeding nostalgia. you don't feel the same flying in a cessna all in all, it's like asking why people by the new old-timers (like thone from chrysler). they simply like those. |
Question: How many aircraft are there in the world? Posted: 23 Oct 2014 02:47 PM PDT How many aircraft are there in the world? Commercial ones i already know it is about 16.000, i am saying including general aviation, experimental, helicopters, military, not only airliners! |
