So, my battery and brake light
started flashing on and off. Random
periods of time when they stay on
and go off. Then my headlights
would start dimming. I figured it was
my alternator and so I went to get it
checked. The alternator and the
battery are just fine. One battery
cable was kind've corroded but I got
that fixed. Then on the way to work I
stopped at a stop light the lights
came on and then the car turned off.
And now it won't start. Any
suggestions as to what it is??!

Question: 1998 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.7L missing?

1998 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.7L missing?

My truck was running fine but when I was on my way home from work while stopped at a traffic light it started missing. I brought it home and read the codes, the scanner said it had a misfire, bad egr valve and a bad mass air flow sensor. I've changed the fuel filter and the spark plugs not even a week ago but haven't been able to change the plug wires or the distributor cap yet. UPDATE: I changed the egr valve today and unplugged the mass air flow sensor while it was idling just to see if it would still miss, no change so is it a misfire??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Question: 1975 f250, no transmission somehow..?

Posted: 15 Oct 2014 04:27 PM PDT

1975 5.9l f250 custom. (Not factory motor, probably not factory anything..)

Worked fine.
Changed my rear pads and cylinders.
Put it back together (floating axle dana60).
Lowered it, started it, through it in Go, and nothing happened. Gave her gas, nothing. Turned her off, putter in park, and tried again.
None of the gears engage.

However, if I throw it in 4h or 4l, it'll move.
So my transmission is good, and my transfer case has a loose linkage?
I see 3 linkage bars - 1 from the tree to trans and 2 from trans to tc. (Divorced tc)

They're all loose fitting, but every gear from the tree relays to the bar that's from tree to trans., an 4x4 lever relays to the 2 trans to tc bars.

Idk.
Fluid is good.

Before it wouldn't go, back when it woul go, it'd lunge forward when put into drive, and take forever to shift 2-3. Idk.

Why won't it go? I haven't touched it, it broke over night. Maybe.. The axles have to be put in the exact same gear they were taken out of? That's seems unlikely.
I don't have any vacuum lines hooked up, but it ran without them before, hah.
Nhavent found a diagram, hard to find I guess.

I think the motor in it is like a... 1980-83 351c. I say c rather than w cuz it's got a 2bbl.
