Posted: 20 Oct 2014 10:14 PM PDT As David says, it depends on where you are. In California and Texas the shoulder can be used for going around them; here in Arizona it is forbidden. In all cases you are responsible for almost any collision that results. |
Question: Are underground tunnels in large cities safe? Posted: 20 Oct 2014 09:56 PM PDT In some cities, there are problems with criminals in tunnels. Other than that, it is actually safer to be in a tunnel than in a building or outdoors. In many dangerous situations, from air raids to tornadoes to earthquakes, if you can't get to a real shelter, then a tunnel is the safest place to be. |
Question: Am I safe? Is someone after me? Posted: 20 Oct 2014 09:03 PM PDT I live in a rural area and Im usually out in the night coming home. I have had some weird things happen lately, like a guy had a gun and he called me to his car and kept saying Hello! Hello! Love?! and I looked in his hand and he had a gun. I walked the other side of the road and quickly walked away. He didnt follow me. Theres been some other things happen too. Like I was walking and a guy was on a motor bike and he slowed down and almost looked like he was going to get off. He noticed I was with my BF so he drove away really quick. Do you think someones after me? Its usually really quiet and its rare to see anyone. Also there has been a man walking really slow past my house that looked similar to the guy with the gun. and a car drove past really slow at 2am a few times |
Question: Should cars have a drunk driving mode? Posted: 20 Oct 2014 08:51 PM PDT Cars do have a drunk driving mode. It's called "off". Seriously, even with all the creative safety features you mentioned, the car still would not be safe for a drunk driver. On the other hand, some of the features you mentions would be helpful to have at all times, even when sober. |
Question: How to make a proper turn and when to know you are safely in your "zone."? Posted: 20 Oct 2014 07:35 PM PDT How to make a proper turn and when to know you are safely in your "zone."? Alright so I'm going to have 10 hour driving lesson and I had 2 last saturday. I also drove a bit on Sunday and today. The one thing I'm most uncomfortable is making left and right turns. During the lesson, I turned too wide, turned too short, almost hit parked cars, etc. When I turn the wheel, I don't know when to let the wheel go back to its original position. When the turn is fully complete? mid turn? And also there are 2 lanes on 8th street in Los Angeles and my dad and my driving teacher Jose, said that I was too close to the right lane because there were parked cars. If I went a bit to the left, I would be afraid of the cars to the left of me. How can I assure that I'm not too close to the parked cars on the right and cars going the same way to my left? Please help me. |
