Find out if you need a visa

Citizens of certain countries and territories need a visa to visit or transit Canada. Please note: If you hold an alien's passport or you are stateless, you need a visa to visit or transit in Canada.
What is the country of nationality on your passport?

Country: Japan

You do not need a visa to visit or transit Canada.
Carry proper travel documents and identification

While you may not need a visa to visit or transit Canada, you still need to:

Show an immigration officer that you satisfy all other requirements to enter Canada. For instance, you may need a medical exam before arriving. If you do not meet all the requirements, you may not be allowed to enter.
Carry proper travel documents and identification for yourself and any children travelling with you. Visit the Canada Border Services Agency website for more information.

To find out what else you may need to know before you come to Canada, See Arriving in Canada.

So, if you are a Japanese citizen, and you wish to visit Canada as a tourist, you should have no problem. Just make sure to have your passport and other ID. And, the Amtrak train ride between NYC and Montreal is a very pretty trip.

dude, next time put your name and/or email on it so you don't have to worry about it. plus the first thing you'd do is to call MTA report the train, time, date, and place you left it, and let the cards fall.

Question: Do railroads typically do this?

I take it you're on an extra board? Does your extraboard have a guarantee? Living by the phone is a big part of a railroaders life. You don't say what railroad, but most have employee websites where you can check the boards and see where you're at, and what vacancies are coming up.

Question: Do amtrak trains have wifi? Im going from portland to corvallis.?

Ignore Barry, the sad sad grammar Nazi.

I just did a quick check and Amtrak.com shows buses from Portland to Corvallis. No train. Amtrak trains do have Wi-Fi but it's not the greatest. Can be a pain to connect at times.
