Question: Trading in used car? Posted: 14 Oct 2014 09:16 PM PDT I have a 2002 Limited Edition Pt Cruiser that is white. It needs a new motor but still runs okay. I was thinking about trading it in at a used car dealership. I looked up the kelley blue book price and it says ill get anything from 1200-1800 for trade in and leasing with its current condition. Can someone tell me how the whole process works. I dont have the best credit and my job pays decent. I have never traded in and leased a car before. |

Question: Do I need any kind of dealer's license? Posted: 14 Oct 2014 08:18 PM PDT do I need any kind of dealer's license? I bought a car last week to fix up and sell. I am going to be finished with it in the next couple weeks. When I finish, I intend to sell it. Once I do I plan to buy another car to fix up and sell as well. Will I get in trouble with sales taxes and stuff if I do all of this with out some kind of license in the state of Tennessee? |
Question: I've been financing a car for a year, if I switch to another car will it look bad? Posted: 14 Oct 2014 08:16 PM PDT I bought a 2011 toyota prius back in November. I got an extremely good deal, and if I sell my car now (with 49k miles) I would have 3500 in equity, just based on the blue book value, which I know I can get the dealer to throw in more for. I found out that a chevy volt can drive 40 miles on all electric for less than a 1.20 for a full charge. 40 miles would get me to school and work for about 3 days. The car in looking at includes the charger, a backup camera and parking sensors, and GPS for 18k. Based on the math, it would cost me roughly 16 dollars a month to drive the amount of miles I have been driving per month. (Which I have been tracking for 11 months now, averaging 900 miles a month). Here's my question. Since I've had an auto loan for a year on November 3rd, would I be able to switch cars and even lower my payment with the new loan (interest and equity will lower the payment by about 30 dollars), without hurting my credit? Will it look bad later that I don't have a consistent auto loan, or is it just the fact that I have had an auto loan on my credit for the past three years (in the future) that matters? Basically, when my mom recently went to mercedes to lease her new car the salesman told me I'd be able to do it with about 3 years of auto loan credit and a good credit score, good income and blah blah. I don't need a lecture on leasing but just a simple answer. |
