Cars & Transportation: Buying & Selling: “Question: What should be my first car?” plus 3 more

Question: What should be my first car?

Pretty much any car you want. Just make sure its reliable and relatively cheap to maintain and repair if you're on a budget. Older toyotas and hondas fit that bill.

Question: I am really torn inbetween getting a sports car and a truck.?

Skip the truck. Especially skip the 4x4, as that cuts mileage almost in half.
The 4x4 extra components also make maintenance much more expensive.
Trucks are inconvenient for passengers, will not impress a date, get bad mileage, and are much harder to park.
Get an old beater while in school, as it will be dented, broken into, etc.

Question: How long will this take to accomplish?!?!?!?!?

Well with what you listed, it'll take about two months to get about $2,000 without tax included. Now considering the car you're getting, you better be ready to spend a ton on insurance if you want a Volkswagen Jetta or Passat. From what I know, german cars are the most expensive to own in the US, my reasoning being my grandmother owned a 2003 Jetta, and to this day that Jetta was the most expensive car she has had to insure. The car itself though is incredibly reliable and worth it in the end, though. Just be ready to pay a pretty penny on insurance.
