Question: How many hours does a co-pilot work? Posted: 11 Nov 2015 05:30 PM PST In the US, the FFA restricts all single crew pilots to in between 9-14 hours of flight duty per day, with multiple crews that limit is extended to between 13-19 hours. Also, pilots must not exceed more than 60 hours of flight duty per week. Also, pilots must be given at least a 10 hour break (with at least 8 hours available to sleep) after reaching the flight duty maximum. Pilots must also be given 30 consecutive hours of duty free time at some period during the week. All this, the number of flights, the pilots operation area, and a few other things determine how many hours a pilot may end up working. The laws only define the maximum of hours a pilot may work in a week, not the minimum, so it is hard to give a solid answer. Also, commercial pilots make a salary, not wages, so the number of hours worked doesn't effect their pay. Nick Gillotti · 4 hours ago
