Question: Motorcycle as only form of transportation? Posted: 18 Nov 2015 12:05 AM PST When you say you live at home--well everyone lives at home. Wherever you live, that's your home! I'm assuming it means you live with your folks. So if it snows or something you can borrow a car? Then it actually makes sense. Motorcycles are no fun at all in snow. Not much fun in rain. Also it would be better if you just practiced on the bike for a while, staying out of heavy traffic, out of the wide range of conditions you find in your general personal transportation. I consider my bike my primary form of transportation, but I have a car that I use when it rains or I have to carry something big. |

Posted: 17 Nov 2015 09:09 PM PST Can't decide which to get. A 04 mach 1 or a cbr, r1, ninja, etc bike. ( 650cc or up). But one question, which costs more in modifications? |
Question: Does anyone know if its hard riding a street motorcycle for the first time? Posted: 17 Nov 2015 07:56 PM PST If you can drive a manual-shift car it's not hard at all. I learned on a manual car, and when a friend of my sister's came over on a Honda 90 I was able to borrow it and ride it around the block. Later, my first bike was a Lambretta scooter--yes it was a scooter but had a manual shift--and I was able to jump on it and ride it home. If you can't drive a manual car, you could get on a bike with an automatic transmission and it would be very easy. All scooters these days are automatic. A bigger bike might be a lot harder, because of its weight it would be harder to balance. Otherwise the hardest thing will be clutching and shifting if you haven't done that. |
