Question: What's the minimum allowable tread depth on your tires by law? Posted: 14 Nov 2015 11:00 AM PST http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/... "...No person shall use on a highway a pneumatic tire on a vehicle axle when the tire has less than ... One thirty-second (1/32) of an inch tread depth in any two adjacent grooves at any location of the tire...." 1/32" is the wear bars on a tire, once the wear bar is even with the tread the tire is illegal. If you run in the rain, you hydroplane easier as the tread wears. For safety in the rain I would suggest no less than 5/32" of tread depth. |
Question: Driving question about turn lane (w/Picture)? Posted: 14 Nov 2015 04:46 AM PST If a lane is marked for a specific action, that is the lane you use for that action. The lane you have marked is for straight and right turns only. If I were in the left lane making a turn and you were next to me trying the same thing, I would lay on my horn and insult your ancestors for raising an idiot. And, if you'll notice, even google maps is smart enough to put arrows on the direction of travel. |
