Question: With interim permit can drive a car? Posted: 16 Nov 2015 09:08 AM PST With a "permit", you may drive with an escort, but not by yourself. With a provisional or graduated license, you may drive, with restrictions, which sometimes requires additional supervised time for a number of months, sometimes has time restrictions, or location restrictions or passenger restrictions until you have driven for a period of time, or you've reached 18 years old. Rules differ from state to state, province to province, country to country. Local rules apply, along with rules for where your license came from (follow the more restrictive rules). |
Question: Driving a car thats not insured in my name? Posted: 16 Nov 2015 08:03 AM PST That depends on your buddy's policy language. See the link below for more details, but generally liability insurance covers the driver, not the car, meaning your insurance would kick in if you were in an accident. However, most people don't carry their insurance cards around everywhere they go, so you'll likely want to provide the officer with your buddy's insurance card, which is hopefully in the car with him. If you can't do that, you will be cited for lack of insurance. It's your responsibility as the driver to ensure you are insured, no matter who owns the car. |
