Question: Which is best in your opinion? Posted: 09 Nov 2015 07:41 PM PST Actually, neither one is a good option. Cassette adapters, especially the cheaper ones, have relatively high failure rates. And even when they work, the sound quality may not be very good. FM transmitters will definitely suffer from RF interference. If, for whatever reason, you won't install a new head unit that has the type of input you need, the BEST option would probably be an "FM modulator". Transmitters and modulators work the same way. But modulators have a physical connection (antenna) to the existing receiver. RF interference is greatly reduced. But it's still possible if there's an exceptionally strong signal on the frequency you select. The real best option is to replace the receiver/head unit with one that has the appropriate input(s). |

Question: What amp should I get ? Posted: 09 Nov 2015 04:00 PM PST There's no need to post the same question over and over again. It's called spam and it's against the Yahoo Answers community guidelines. You need to be patient and someone will come on along to help you. Always go by the RMS. The peak power is meaningless. Best Buy has the RMS listed wrong for that sub. It's a 500 watt RMS sub, not 800. It's not a DVC 2 ohm sub, it's a DVC 4 ohm sub. The voice coils are wired parallel together inside the enclosure to make a 2 ohm load. So you'll need a mono amp that could produce 500 watts RMS at a 2 ohm load. Get the Alpine MRV-M500. |
