Question: A&P and pilot license ? Posted: 19 Nov 2015 02:43 AM PST Is it worth it to acquire an A&p first ? Really stressing the decision between aviation academy for maintenance vs pilot training.. There's pilot training local " 10 months course " at the FIT in Melbourne fl. Is that a reputable pilot training school ? just considering if I choose to get my A&p, if it'll mean anything if I later decide to get pilot training.. I'm new to aviation, gathering as much info as possible so forgive me if I seem uneducated on the subject . Any help would be appreciated ! Thank you ! |
Question: A&P certificate vs license ? Posted: 19 Nov 2015 01:22 AM PST Currently in application process for the national aviation academy.. Reading salary statistics, I see multiple listings for A&p mechanics as well as LICENSED A&p mechanics. I realize opon graduation from the aviation academy, you acquire your A&p " certificate " What is the next step to obtain your A&p " license " ? And what does it entail ? Are you fully prepared to take the FAA test to obtain your license after graduation ? Enrolling in the 21 month program that includes avionics . Any information would be very much appreciated .Especially from A&p mechanics ! |

Question: Do you need to go to College to be a pilot ? Posted: 18 Nov 2015 08:04 PM PST Issuance of FAA pilot certificates does not require any school education. You can be a pilot, private, commercial or airline transport (and flight instructor) and never have graduated from grade school. FAA regulations states you must speak, read and understand English, or have that limitation indicated on your certificate. Will anyone hire you as an uneducated person is the question...? Now when you do not go to college, you spell like Oragar The VirginSlayer (see below) which does not know how to spell plains and planes. "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the planes". |
Posted: 18 Nov 2015 06:58 PM PST It's called demilitarization. Basically, the Navy is required by law to render an aircraft (or a battleship, or a pistol, or anything else) unfit for military use prior to relinquishing control of it. Reason being is because the United States military does not want to become the #1 arms supplier to every third world junta, dictator or terrorist organization. In some situations, we can provide arms to legitimate allied governments, but to simply sell weapons on the open market, they have to be rendered useless as weapons first. In the case of an F-14, this involves removing the weapons, engines and avionics, and torching vital structural members in the airframe. Basically, at that point, the only use left is to melt the aircraf down and make Ford F-150s out of it. |
