Question: Driving across the country without insurance? Posted: 13 Nov 2015 08:34 AM PST Ok, so we are moving a very long way here soon. Originally the plan was to sell the boat and tow the spare truck behaving the moving truck. Now suddenly it s keep the boat and I drive the truck and pull the boat. Problem is, I do NOT have insurance, nor is the truck mine. The truck has HIS insurance, but I am not listed as a driver in said insurance. How much trouble can I get in for driving across the country like this? |
Question: Insurance claim asking for my bank statement? Posted: 13 Nov 2015 07:58 AM PST I few weeks ago as I was turning into a different lane, a car hit me and is filing a claim to my insurance company. I called my insurance and gave my recorded statement. And now they asked me to send them my bank statement. Why is that necessary if I'm not the one who filed the claim? Do I have to share that information? |
Question: Can I get my permit before taking the 8 hour driving course? Posted: 13 Nov 2015 06:53 AM PST The first part of the course prepares you to take and pass the written test, for the permit. Yes, you need the permit, in order to legally drive on public roads. Typically, you need 8-10 hours of augmented driving, on your own (with your parent or licensed driver over 21), for every hour of driver's ed training, to solidify what you learned in class / behind the wheel. You need to, it is required, not just a want (can I?). Therefore, yes you should get your permit before you take the 8 hour driving course. |
Posted: 13 Nov 2015 06:49 AM PST There is nothing for you to pursue, really. You can try, but you'll be wasting your time. Insurance only covers what was actually lost, and what you lost was the value of your vehicle. The interest you owe on your loan is not part of the vehicle's value, nor does the fact that the accident wasn't your fault make your vehicle magically worth more. If you didn't purchase GAP coverage, you agreed that you would personally take responsibility for the difference between your vehicle's value and the balance of your loan if your car should be written off for any reason. You can't un-agree to that commitment now. |
Question: Someone hit my car while I was in school and didn't leave a note? Posted: 13 Nov 2015 06:14 AM PST No, that kind of claim shouldn't affect your rates. Usually only at-fault accidents affect your premiums. You'd definitely see an increase if you did the hitting and running, but not if you're the victim of a hit & run. It's good that you have 'full' coverage, because hit & run damage is covered under Collision. You will have to pay the deductible, even though it wasn't your fault, but at least your policy will cover the rest. If the responsible vehicle is ever found (which is a pretty big if), you'll get your deductible back. |
