Posted: 21 Nov 2015 12:54 AM PST Nothing bad. If you use a gauge that's too small, the wire gets hot, and you get a voltage drop at the amp end. If you use a heavier gauge wire, nothing bad happens. Heck you could use solid copper bus bars if you were that dedicated and could insulate them, although at really high currents hollow pipe copper or silver conductors work best. But only worry about that when you get up into the thousands of amps. |

Question: How much would this car audio system cost roughly? Posted: 20 Nov 2015 10:32 PM PST A lot of novices are completely clueless when it comes to car audio. In the car audio industry, there's the decent stuff that you can get for only around $100. Then, there's the top of the line stuff that's highly expensive. Two 12's, two 6x9's, two front speakers, a four channel amp and a Kenwood stereo tells me nothing about the quality of the equipment. What I need to know is a brand, a model number and where you're going to buy it from. You should NEVER buy used car audio equipment because you don't know how much abuse it has been taken. To answer your question, nobody knows.. |
