Posted: 12 Nov 2015 11:53 PM PST All airplanes have a water depth limitation (on runway) for takeoff or landing (1 inch generally). Many runways are grooved to assist reduction of water depth. Engine ignition is always used on takeoff and landing, wet or dry runways. In cruise, heavy rain is irrelevant - Pilots use engine ignition (like spark plugs) as necessary |

Question: What's the difference between a drone and an rc plane? Posted: 12 Nov 2015 12:36 PM PST Drones ARE a sort of radio controlled aircraft, but they have very different capabilities than your average RC hobby aircraft. RC hobby airplanes are more likely to be scale models of REAL airplanes, and are very seldom flown at high altitudes, OR out of the eyesight of the person operating the controls. Military drones can operate hundreds or even thousands of miles away from their "pilot" and some can be used as remote control weapons platforms. Smaller drones can fly vertically like a helicopter and carry cameras for covert or commercial photography. FedEx is investigating the possibility of using remote control drones to deliver packages in urban areas. |
Posted: 12 Nov 2015 10:28 AM PST You apply to airlines directly, they train you (training varies from 4 weeks to 2 months). Do not waste rime and money and do a so called "flight attendant course" since these are worthless SCAMS and might teach you procedures contrary to what your airline does. Each airline has to train you to their specific procedures and airplane equipment. A flight attendant qualification can only be issued by a certificated air carrier. After you apply with airlines, they may select you if you meet their requirements, age minimum (18 or 21) and hire you after successful completion of training. Airline will provide you with hotel accommodations, expenses for meals and transport for interview and training. Generally, airlines require a minimum height of 163 cm so you can reach some of the airplane emergency equipment. Height and weight in proportion and good health. Airlines require at least completion of secondary education. You should have a current passport for travel. Apply through airline websites. Be aware that you might not be based near your hometown. You could travel home (free, space available) for visits on your days off. Pluses for selection as cabin crewmember are languages you can speak and qualified for (Red Cross) first aid and CPR. There are many applicants for very few openings, it is not unusual for an airline to interview large number of applicants, to hire but a few dozen of them. I suggest you apply to several airlines in your country. You might have to go through 2 or 3 interviews for various airlines before you will be selected. |
