Question: Will the insurance make a check out to me or the bank? Posted: 07 Nov 2015 07:53 AM PST The insurance doesn't suck. The insurance has no choice. It was not their decision. It is against the law for them to pay more than the car is worth. They are giving you the most that they can. If anything sucks here, it's the law, not the insurance company. The money goes to the bank. So now you will owe the bank only $5,000, instead of $15,000. That means that you will have a lot less to pay the bank.
Question: How do I get insurance? Posted: 06 Nov 2015 11:34 PM PST You do NOT need a drivers license to buy insurance. Where did you get that false notion? All that you need to insure a car is the cash to pay the premium and a **Insurable Interest** in the vehicle. Call or visit some local insurance agents and get quotes from them and then choose the best quote for you and for your circumstances. **An insurable interest is a basic requirement for an insurance company to issue a policy. Entities not subject to financial loss from an event do not have an insurable interest and cannot purchase an insurance policy to cover that event. Sadly, Kids have no idea about Automobile insurance. Insurance basics should be taught right along with drivers education.
Question: What is the process for getting my drivers license at 18? Posted: 06 Nov 2015 10:08 PM PST To apply for an original Nevada Instruction Permit, you must: Provide acceptable proof of your identity and Nevada address. Present any existing U.S. license, instruction permit or ID card. Apply in person at a DMV office (we do not make appointments). Complete an Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card (DMV 002). Pay the required licensing and testing fees. Pass the vision and knowledge tests. Have your picture taken. Most original licenses will be valid for eight years and cost $42.25. Licenses for those 65 and older are valid for four years and cost $18.25. A $26 testing fee will be charged prior to the written test and covers both the written test and the initial skills test. A $11 retest fee will apply to all retakes. Any existing ID you may have will be hole-punched and returned to you. You will be issued an interim paper document that certifies your driving privilege. You may choose to receive a Nevada Instruction Permit or to schedule a drive test. If you receive an Instruction Permit, it will be mailed to you within 10 business days. Once you have received your Permit, you may drive only with a licensed driver, 21 years or older, that has at least one year of driving experience seated next to you at all times. When you are ready, you may schedule a driving skills test to obtain your full Driver License. You will be issued an interim document after successful completion of the skills test for a fee of $4.25. The license will then be mailed to you within 10 business days. It is suggested that you get some professional training, which will cover all the things you need to pass the road test. Few people pass without practicing the proper techniques, that a professional driver's ed trainer will teach you.
Question: Does the westminster dmv take walk ins for a behind the wheel test? Posted: 06 Nov 2015 08:38 PM PST Just because you have neither seen nor heard of something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The New Hampshire DMV's will generally take walk-ins. That being said, how do you expect anyone to answer this question? We have no idea what state you live in.
Question: How can I find my deceased mothers driver license number? Posted: 06 Nov 2015 07:56 PM PST As a general rule, most police reports are public records. But with a fatal car accident, can usually take a lot longer since the police will do a more detail investigation into the fatal accident. As a former auto adjuster, I never heard of having to provide someone's driver's license number for a copy. What you need is the police department that came to the scene and wrote the report. Then call them to see if the report is completed. Then if done, go to that police department and they can locate based on the date of the accident, (where) it happened, and the name of your mother. Most reports on average will cost you about $10 for a copy. If, by some "bizarre" reason that they do in fact need a driver's license, I am guessing that you would have a copy of her obituary showing that you are her daughter, so a valid reason for requesting. Sorry for the loss of your mother.
