I am coming to USA for short trip with no knowledge of public transport Then how do you know there is a Bus or subway where you are going.
Yes there are bus stops. Many places to buy tickets and many buses will take cash to pay the fare.

Suggest you Google "Transit" (City you are going to ) for more information on the local bus service.

As a tourist you might want to get an All day Ticket. One Fare for as many times as you want to ride.
