People drive 45 on the highway where the speed limit is 55, 30 on the highway where the speed limit is 45, 15 around a curve where the suggested speed is 25, etc. People take forever to get up to speed when merging into the freeway even when the on-ramp is super long, and I regularly miss my light on my way to work because people take several seconds to take off when the light turns green and then proceed to drive 5 mph through the intersection. And if someone sees a cop, even stopped on the other side of the freeway, they slam on their brakes and cause a traffic jam. It's not just a matter of impatience either. Driving too slow can be just as dangerous as driving too fast. What goes through people's heads when they're crawling along like a tortoise and people around them are trying to go a normal speed?
