Road Trip!?

Since im taking my vacation next week im thinking of driving my 2003 vw beetle to NC from SC. Its only a 3.5-4 hour drive to get there but im paranoid about driving my car that distance. Its had a oil change almost two mths ago for 5,000 miles which is still good because I only drive to work and back home im not always on the road, recently got all tires brand new and a new rim with one of the tires. The only problem I had with it was it had bad gas one time and that was a bummer until I drained it out. New spark plugs and everything! Since I never driven that far and that long in my car will it be ok or am I overreacting? I plan to take along oil just in case, gas tank is on full. Please help! :-)

What to do if I commute to work and my car is totaled and I can't get to my job?

I was in a car crash today, and my car is totaled. I live in a college town attending school, so I don't have any family around me or rides willing to drive 45 minutes to my job and back to pick me up. I called my boss today to let her know the situation as I have shifts this weekend, and she understandably was frustrated. The problem is, I won't get the money from my insurance for about a month and I am under 21 so I cant rent a car. I work Monday, and I haven't called her back yet, but I'm at a loss for what I should do. Should I resign from my job and if I do, how to I go about this situation? I have only been working there for 2 weeks, but I just don't have a ride to work at this point.
