Question: Should I just buy an automatic car?

give this a try.
self teaching method. stupidly simple. requires no back seat drivers/coaches and will in no way harm the vehicle.
flat empty lot. engine running. in first gear. clutch depressed. adding no throttle, slowly release clutch till vehicle starts to move and the clutch is fully released. do it slowly. repeat till your successful. then add just a wee bit of throttle to take off faster.
that's a self teaching method the will not wear out the clutch as the rpms are not such that it will happen. and engine dying as a result, even repeatadly, will not hurt anything either.

you learn that, you'll be light years ahead of most all other dirvers out there. you'll learn, w/o even knowing it, the power to weight ratio of your specific vehicle. most ppl don't learn the *minimum* throttle needed to move a vehicle. most run the rpms up a little too much. which over time causes premature wear of the clutch plates.
this will teach you the *optimum* way to operate a clutch system with minimum wear on the clutch. it will give you the ability to let a clutch last as long as it possibly can.
graduate to a *slight* incline and pratice again. may have to start out with a little throttle. remember what you learned on a flat lot. minimum throttle.

cheers!

Question: How long can you drive on 18% oil life?

How many miles since your last oil change?
The Mfg establishes a time/mileage limit on oil life on a 0-100% scale.Your oil will last until zero percent more or less but it's not recommended that you wait that long to change it.Check your oil level & color. If the oil is black then you are due for an oil change yesterday.
