Question: No license yet but I need to drive to college? Posted: 19 Aug 2014 09:32 PM PDT I start college on Monday (August 25th, 2014) and I don't have my driver's license yet. I'm only on my 5th driving lesson and side from them I've never done any driving before. I lived in Hawaii so I would always catch the bus if I needed to go somewhere. Is the license test easy enough that I can pass it with a basic understanding of driving? I do fine on the highway, but I can't do much parking very well. |

Question: What's the best way to save gas when driving? Posted: 19 Aug 2014 08:57 AM PDT What's the best way to save gas when driving? My manual says to leave the windows down and A/C off to conserve gas, but to put them up and use the A/C at highway speeds. This is confusing. I'm not sure exactly what "highway speeds" is defined as. You can be on a highway and have multiple stops, so should I leave the windows down and A/C off while at full speed and the opposite when I slow down? This seems like what it means, but it doesn't seem logical. I feel like if the A/C was constantly being turned on and off throughout a trip it would possibly use more fuel to compensate for re-cooling after an off period. Would it be more fuel efficient to just leave the A/C off and windows down when driving on highways that require frequent stops and the opposite just for the interstates? Should I just leave the A/C on the whole time? Should I leave the A/C off when on roads that aren't highways even though the speed limit is 45 mph or higher? I'm just looking to save more fuel, as well as put less strain on my vehicle. I live in an area where my car thermometer has been reading over 105 F for the past few days when I first get in it just so you know what kind of heat I'm dealing with. |
Question: Best route from Philly to Boston? Posted: 19 Aug 2014 08:55 AM PDT Best route from Philly to Boston? We have to drive from Philly to Boston on a Friday towards the end of Sept. We can't leave until 1pm or later and I want to arrive no later than 11pm. I know traffic near NYC will be a nightmare. Does anyone regularly make this trip who could provide alternate routes to take. I know GPS will probably take us the worst way possible. Thanks in advance for your reply. |
Question: (Emergency) Can you bike from University Ave & 47st to Mesa College? Posted: 19 Aug 2014 05:57 AM PDT (Emergency) Can you bike from University Ave & 47st to Mesa College? I live at University Ave & 47st (near Towel Bar). Can I bike from there to Mesa College? I tried Google map but it tells me to cross highway in the process so I think it may be wrong |
