Question: No license yet but I need to drive to college?

Posted: 19 Aug 2014 09:32 PM PDT

I start college on Monday (August 25th, 2014) and I don't have my driver's license yet. I'm only on my 5th driving lesson and side from them I've never done any driving before. I lived in Hawaii so I would always catch the bus if I needed to go somewhere.

Is the license test easy enough that I can pass it with a basic understanding of driving? I do fine on the highway, but I can't do much parking very well.

Question: Stuck far from home?

Are there any companies that drive cars across the Country?
I wish I had better answer. You have no one?
I can't tell by your name or avatar, if you are a male or female.
You could sneak across the border, and tell them you are an illegal, and have family in CT.

Question: What's the best way to save gas when driving?

What's the best way to save gas when driving?

My manual says to leave the windows down and A/C off to conserve gas, but to put them up and use the A/C at highway speeds. This is confusing. I'm not sure exactly what "highway speeds" is defined as. You can be on a highway and have multiple stops, so should I leave the windows down and A/C off while at full speed and the opposite when I slow down? This seems like what it means, but it doesn't seem logical. I feel like if the A/C was constantly being turned on and off throughout a trip it would possibly use more fuel to compensate for re-cooling after an off period. Would it be more fuel efficient to just leave the A/C off and windows down when driving on highways that require frequent stops and the opposite just for the interstates? Should I just leave the A/C on the whole time? Should I leave the A/C off when on roads that aren't highways even though the speed limit is 45 mph or higher? I'm just looking to save more fuel, as well as put less strain on my vehicle. I live in an area where my car thermometer has been reading over 105 F for the past few days when I first get in it just so you know what kind of heat I'm dealing with.

Question: Best route from Philly to Boston?

Best route from Philly to Boston?

We have to drive from Philly to Boston on a Friday towards the end of Sept. We can't leave until 1pm or later and I want to arrive no later than 11pm. I know traffic near NYC will be a nightmare. Does anyone regularly make this trip who could provide alternate routes to take. I know GPS will probably take us the worst way possible. Thanks in advance for your reply.

(Emergency) Can you bike from University Ave & 47st to Mesa College?

I live at University Ave & 47st (near Towel Bar). Can I bike from there to Mesa College? I tried Google map but it tells me to cross highway in the process so I think it may be wrong
"Head northwest on Reno Dr toward University Ave =>Turn right onto University Ave =>Turn left toward Orange Ave =>Turn left onto Orange Ave =>Turn right onto Fairmount Ave =>Turn right toward Fairmount Ave =>Continue onto Fairmount Ave =>Turn left onto Camino Del Rio N =>Turn right onto Ward Rd =>Turn left onto Rancho Mission Rd =>Continue onto San Diego Stadium =>Continue onto Qualcomm Way =>Continue straight onto Murphy Canyon Rd =>Slight right to stay on Murphy Canyon Rd =>Turn left onto Aero Dr =>Turn left onto Kearny Villa Rd =>Continue onto Mesa College Dr "
Please answer me as soon as possible!!! And please don't tell me to use bus or car because if I wanted to do so, I wouldn't come here to ask for help.
