Question: Pennsylvania driving policies? Posted: 21 Aug 2014 09:27 AM PDT Pennsylvania driving policies? I'm currently 17 and don't have my permit. I will turn 18 on September 7th. If I get my permit before my birthday, will I still have to have it for 6 months before I get my license? Or will the extra rules not apply once I have my birthday? I can't find any info online. All answers appreciated. |
Posted: 21 Aug 2014 06:55 AM PDT It all depends on which company has to pay the claim. Since the other driver had coverage, it shouldn't affect your rates. If they didn't and you had to use uninsured motorist coverage or whatever, it very well might have. |
Question: Stolen car, insurance wont pay. Please Help? Posted: 21 Aug 2014 06:33 AM PDT If you don't tell the insurance company about any changes, you invalidate your insurance - so of course they won't pay. They have rues - and you have to follow the rules. As to your credit rating, it has no effect at all - as long as you keep paying what you owe on the car if you had a loan. Credit is effected by non-payment or late payment of what you owe: a stolen car is irrelevant to that. |
Question: I'm 19 and I still don't have my driver's license? Posted: 21 Aug 2014 06:22 AM PDT Life would have been much easier for you if you had taken the tests when you hit 16. Since you're probably in post-secondary school, you'll now have to deal with putting aside free time to get your full license. It is a big pain; well, for you anyway. |
Question: Written Test For Drivers License? Posted: 21 Aug 2014 06:10 AM PDT Written Test For Drivers License? So I'm going to be 18 next month, but tomorrow I'm going to take the written test to obtain my drivers license here in California, what should I know?? I do have a manual & I've been reading it. But I feel like I should know more. |
Question: My son's old roommate hit his parked car 3 months ago.? Posted: 21 Aug 2014 05:17 AM PDT Billy T is right, it would be met with suspicion if you filed a claim three months after the fact. And because the kid started the settlement process on his own, the insurer might refuse to cover anything. One of the rules when filing a claim with an insurance company is that they do all the negotiating from start to finish. When people start negotiating on their own, the insurer is allowed to tell them to take a hike. You don't have anything to hide, but you'll still be met with suspicion. People do slack on their agreements all the time, but waiting three months is a bit totally odd. Most people, when agreeing to a private settlement, wait no longer than three days before insisting that it be claimed through insurance. There will be additional questions, and how those questions are answered will determine whether or not the insurer accepts liability. Your best bet is to contact the kid, in writing and keep a copy for your records, and advise him that the full agreed amount must be paid in certified funds by 5PM next Monday or you're going completely legal (suing him) and claiming compensation. He can either come up with the cash or notify his insurer. |
