Update : Two problems:
1. One of my friend's official documents has his house address mentioned as House No.45. Many years back, the authorities had re-numbered the houses in his layout and now his house number is No.234. When applying for a passport, he mentioned his house number as No.45, because that's what the documents say.
The policeman who came for verification said that it should be No.234. Now even my friends dad says that it should be No.234, and it would be better to re-apply, rather than pay

Question: Is it legal to drive with a rejected sticker/a car that was rejected at inspection?

Best handling at this point is at an emission certified repair shop.
You can google them for your area, call them, get recommended to a shop. get exactly what it takes to correct the problem.
And nothing else, and get the sticker that is correct for you.
They cant charge you and repair anything unless it directly affects the testing gases you fail, or the parts they specify that must be present.
Get their phone # and ask any question you have, that is how I had to do it, and get clear answers, and stop all the confusion and people getting angry and obstinate and stressed. If the cost exceeds a waiver they can grant a waiver.
If the vehicle has an emission recall, it needs that corrected.
simple simple simple. It is PEOPLE, that make this difficult.

Question: Is this inspection/inspection sticker illegal?

The inspection of the car I drive under my dad's name is due August 2016 and it didn't pass inspection. Four codes showed up in the computer system and there was some emissions problem. My dad went to a mechanic and the mechanic told him that the costs to fix all the problems would be around the price the car costs itself and that it isn't worth it.

My dad didn't believe him and went to another mechanic. After the car had been at the new mechanic for a little over a day I went to pick it up and was told that everything was good. I went to the inspection place and they saw an inspection sticker that expires august 2016 on the front windshield(I did not see or know this). The mechanic put it there and him nor my father told me. The same four codes showed up and the check engine light wasn't coming up(guy at the inspection place said the mechanic might have removed the bulb? I don't understand this). The inspection place failed the car.

I went home and texted my dad and he told me that I wasted the $200 he spent on getting the mechanic to do an inspection. I am wary about this because the mechanic didn't fix anything that was needed to pass an inspection at the first place I went to, He only changed the brakes, which wasn't needed.

Well I went to the mechanic today and asked him and his workers if the sticker was legal. They said it was.

What do you guys think?
